IT stocks led the rally following better-than-expected results by Tata Consultancy ServicesBSE one.54 %. The company beat street estimates by reporting a profit after tax of Rs three,550 crore for the third quarter against net profit of Rs two,803 crore in the same quarter of the earlier fiscal.

MUMBAI: The Sensex opened in positive terrain & hit the psychological mark of twenty,000 led by gains in know-how, real estate & oil & gas sectors as sentiment turned positive in Indian equities after the government deferred controversial GAAR implementations by years.

At 09:16 a.m.; 30-share index was at 19,930.40, up 23.99 points or 0.12 percent. The index touched a high of twenty,007.09 & a low of 19,922.25 in early trade.

The revenue for the third quarter was reported at Rs 16,070 crore, up 21.7 percent year-on-year & two.9 percent quarter-on-quarter. The stock was at Rs one,375, up three.03 percent, on the NSE. It touched a high of Rs one,400 & a low of Rs one,357.30 in early trade.

The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.23 percent & the BSE Smallcap Index gained 0.15 percent higher.

The Nifty was at 6,027.55, up three.50 points or 0.06 percent. It touched a high of 6,044.60 & a low of 6,026 in early today.

The BSE IT Index was up 0.48 percent, the BSE Real estate Index moved 0.37 percent higher & the BSE Oil & Gas Index advanced 0.25 percent. The BSE FMCG Index was down 0.49 percent & the BSE Metal Index declined 0.15 percent.
